Handmade Persian Khatam pen and pencil case
A practical desk accessory and a distinctive piece of Persian craftsmanship. This wooden pen and pencil case is decorated in Khatam Kari, the traditional Iranian art of geometric marquetry using tiny inlaid pieces to build intricate repeating patterns.
Measuring 20 × 5 cm (approx. 7.9 × 2 in), the case has a sliding compartment for storing pens and pencils. Its compact size makes it useful on a desk while the detailed Khatam decoration turns an everyday object into an attractive Persian gift or decorative piece.
Khatam Kari has a long history in Iran and is closely associated with Persian decorative arts. The technique uses carefully arranged geometric inlay to create the richly patterned surface characteristic of Khatam work.
